13/03/2009 – Airports That Twitter : Airports Find A New Way To Update
Is Twitter a good tool for airports to keep flyers up to date on delays, weather, news and fare sales? It seems some airports are beginning to use Twitter as an additional tool to help advise travelers.
Some airports are far better at Twittering than others, other airports have registered Twitter names and not updated in a year, or updated at all, but it seems that Twitter is continuing to catch on as a tool.
So for those of you who travel and Twitter, below is a list of airports that have begun to put out airport updates via the Twitter service. I have left off quite a few airports who have no updates and those who have not updated in a very long time.

Port Columbus International Airport (CMH) & Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK) in Columbus Ohio are both twittering, and very active.
CMH shares info, but also uses Twitter as a customer service feedback tool by monitoring tweets about CMH. At LCK we recently tweeted the return of 400+ soldiers who had been overseas for a year. We included photos that were very heartwarming and popular.
You can find us at PortColumbusCMH and RickIntlAirpor
Lehigh Valley International Airport is also on Twitter. You can find them at @Fly_LVIA. Pretty useful information regarding updates at the airport and travel information.
