On an unlikely day last week, April Fools Day, the airline industry gathered in Hamburg Germany, to find out whom SkyTrax would name as the ‘Airline of the Year.‘

SkyTrax received more than 16.2 million completed surveys from frequent flyers, representing passengers from more than 97 nations to determine the top airline of the year. In the end the choice was apparently a clear one, Cathay Pacific.

Cathay Pacific has been named the top airline of the year three times over the past 10 years, while retaining one of only six 5-Star Airline ratings … and to round it out also took home the top Asian Airline award as well.
