Follow Santa One’s Flight Plan In Real Time
In approximately 20 Hours, from when this post is being written, a special type of aircraft’s power plants will begin fueling on carrots and lettuce, as Elf rampers begin loading cargo at a speed that would make FedEx’s SuperHub jealous.
In just Seventeen Hours and Forty-Five Minutes from now, at the time this post is being written, a once a year flight will taxi to the runway, guided by a single red beacon, turn south, as all flights from this departure point head south regardless of destination, and will go Skis-Up from the North Pole International Sleighport with the radio call sign of Santa One.
From the moment Santa One’s sleigh is skis up, the flight is closely monitored by the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), a bi-national military aerospace coalition of the United States and Canada. Every year NORAD ensures Santa One has unimpeded airspace worldwide to carry out Santa Claus’ flight path. No flight takes precedent over Santa One, not the President of the United States, not Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, nor His Imperial Majesty Emperor Akihito … no flight, regardless of who is on board interrupts Santa One’s flight path.
Santa One is on a tight schedule to reach boys and girls around the world and tracking this special flight takes tireless effort and support from air traffic control stations and ground support from around the world. With all the effort, and global support that is involved with tracking Santa One, NORAD allows children of all ages around the world to track this special flight in real time through the Santa Tracker.
Before children get nestled snug in their bed, with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads, and the house is so quiet that not a creature is stirring, not even a mouse, while awaiting the clatter of St. Nick on the lawn, followed by the bellows of Now Dasher! Now Dancer!, Now Prancer and Vixen. On Comet! On Cupid! On Donner and Blitzen! … take a moment to see where in the world Santa is.
As Santa belongs to the world, and all the children in it, NORAD’s Santa Tracker is available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese.

Now hang the stockings by the chimney with care … and to all a goodnight!
Happy Flying!
