17/12/2008 – Happy Birthday Airplanes!
It was today, 105 years ago that Orville and Wilbur Wright ventured out to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, and took to the skies.
Today, 105 years ago, for the first time an airplane’s engine revved up, and man flew on an airplane. This 120 foot flight, which is less than the wingspan of a Boeing 747, has allowed us to soar through the air, travel quickly from Point-A to Point-B, to break the sound barrier…and of course ponder the future of reduced frequent flyer benefits and fuel surcharges.
Happy Birthday Modern Aviation!
Happy Flying!
