6/02/2009 – Fish’s 5 Essential Travel Twitterers You Should Follow
Do you Twitter? Do you want your travel information available to you in short easy to read messages? If you like your info short and to the point, why not follow some ‘Travel Twitters?’
It took me a while to understand the point of Twitter. At first I found Twitter irritating, I really don’t care who’s eating a bagel or who is about to drop into a mobile phone dead zone as they get on the Metro. Once I realized I could use Twitter not as a social networking tool, but as a way to pass on information that may be interesting to readers of Flying With Fish, I adopted the use of Twitter. I admit, I am still getting the hang of Twitter, at times I forget to use it as a viable tool…but my use is expanding.
While my Flying With Fish Twitter account follows no one, I do read quite a few traveller related Twitters on a regular basis. So who does Flying With Fish follow on Twitter? Let me tell you!
– Flying With Fish : www.twitter.com/flyingwithfish
(OK, I don’t actually follow my own Twitter, but you should!)
-Cranky Flyer : www.twitter.com/crankyflier
(Bret Snyder runs www.crankyflier.com, a fantastic site for any traveller)
-Wall Street Journal’s Middle Seat : www.twitter.com/MiddleSeat
(Scott McCartney writes the Wall Street Journal’s The Middle Seat)
-AeroChannel : www.twitter.com/aerochannel
(AeroChannel.com’s web site is a great source of information for any traveller)
-Global Traveller : www.twitter.com/globtrav
(Global Traveller, also know as Kiwi Flyer, is a great source of musings & info)
-Today In The Sky : www.twitter.com/TodayInTheSky
(Ben Mutzabaugh write’s USA Todays’ Today In The Sky section)
…while I read a few others, these are really the top Travel Twitters that I find either give me great snippets of information, or link me to good sources of information, on a regular basis.
Look these Twitterers up and if you like them, follow them along with my Twitter updates (shameless plug) at www.twitter.com/flyingwithfish
