Win A Seat Next To Randy Petersen … Yes, That Randy!
Do you like travel? Yearn for more time in an airline seat? Enjoy conversing with semi-bald white haired gentlemen who seems to only wear Nike sneakers? Then have I got a contest for you!
Between today, the 1st of October and this coming Sunday, the 7th of October, you’ll have the opportunity to win a seat next to Randy Petersen … the founder of BoardingArea (where Flying With Fish is hosted), FlyerTalk, MilePoint, coiner of the phrase Mileage Run, yadda, yadda, yadda … during the next StarMegaDO (Star Alliance Mega Day Out) this coming November.
One lucky reader of participating BoardingArea blogs will win either an aisle or window seat next to Randy Petersen during the StarMegoDO … Randy will be in the middle seat and attempt to not hog the arm rests. Along with your seat, you’ll win hotel accommodations and US$250 in cash to spend as you wish.
While entrants are limited to one entry per participating blog … you have 30 chances to enter … one entry in each of the 30 participating blog. Scroll through the BoardingArea blog roll in the right hand side of FlyingWithFish to find new blogs to read and keep entering for your chance to win.
So how do you enter?
Answer the following question, and one person will be selected at random (so remember to use your real full name and email address), using Random.org, and that’s it, you’re entered!
The question is … How do you personally engage with your airlines via social media?

Happy Flying!
I generally use twitter. I send compliments and complaints. Much faster response time than other channels
I do not presently interact with airlines by social media. I prefer the phone.
How do you personally engage with your airlines via social media? Follow on Twittter and Facebook -they are all there and they are all present – good info and good deals —
I don’t!
Only on Facebook
I’ve used Twitter with AA before and it worked out pretty well.
Tweet only when problems
By following their Facebook pages so they’ll give me free miles and discounts
I’m still learning. For now, I take advantage of bonuses from Facebook “Like” promotions.
I engage with @ACTopTier on a regular basis. I’ll tweet photos, make comments, ask questions, and joke around sometimes.
I usually tweet them but I actually find airports to be better at social media especially during delays
I have had great luck contacting Delta on Twitter. When my inbound connecting flight was delayed causing me to miss the last flight to my destination, I was able to get booked on a flight of my choice the next day on my drive to the hotel while everyone else was stuck in line waiting to speak to an agent.
I connect via FaceBook.
I just posted on the United wall today. I spend too much time on there
I don’t.
haven’t really lately. Used to check twitter for fare deals.
I don’t engage with the airlines I fly (or with the ones I don’t fly for that matter) using social media….
United through its twitter and facebook…asked questions, but never got replies…=[
Twitter – and it’s been useful!
Facebook… and Twitter, but never receive responses, usually just vent.
facebook
I only fly UA and I’ve tried to engage UA on both Facebook and Twitter with questions and complaints but nobody is home at United. The do not respond so it is like hollering down an empty tunnel.
Twitter using the hashtag
Take part in Facebook contests or contact Customer Care via Twitter, as it ensures speedy reply.
Knowing that airlines monitor Twitter is an extra line of defense when things are going well on flight days. Thanks for the contest!
I use twitter and post on Milepoint.
I use twitter, it seems to work the best!
Twitter
I haven’t yet, but I know I probably should!
via Facebook
Facebook and twitter
Facebook and my bloggers links!
Not so much.
Use twittering
Twitter… American replies; United never replies.
Twitter. @DeltaAssist
i use twitter to comment on flights and cabin crew – just complimented the SAA crew this week
post a bad experiance
I engage with airlines on social media by “liking” their page on Facebook and posting comments on their Facebook page. I also follow a number of them on Twitter.
Twitter.
Instagraming pics of their planes and using the hashtag. #KLM
I don’t. I think I have a very limited Twitter account and have AA added but other than that I’ll let others do the work.
